This recipe is really easy and can probably be adjusted to taste. At the request of mom, here you go.
2 lrg. green peppers
3/4 lb. ground hamburger
1/3 c. chopped onion or tsp. onion powder
2 lrg. roma tomatoes about 1 cup (chopped)
1/3 c. rice
1 Tb. worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 cup grated cheese
Cut peppers length wise and take out seeds. In a lrg. pot boil water and add peppers for about 3 min. Take out peppers and place on paper towel to drain water. Season insides with salt.
Cook hamburger and onions. Drain fat. Add tomatoes, rice, sauce, 1/2 c. water, and seasonings. I also add salt and pepper. cover and simmer for 10-15 min. Add cheese. Fill peppers and place in a baking dish. Cook at 375 for 15 min. Top with rest of cheese and let melt.
